John Howard Society of Hamilton, Burlington & Area Volunteer Opportunity
The John Howard Society of Hamilton, Burlington & Area is seeking volunteer drivers for the Transportation Program.
The Transportation Program supports family members and loved ones of incarcerated individuals to visit Federal institutions in the Kingston and Warkworth areas.
The Transportation Program allows for direct family contact which may not be possible for families based on their financial situation or lack of access to reliable and affordable transportation.
Volunteer drivers are responsible to driving an eight person passenger van from the allocated pick up location in Hamilton to and from a variety of Federal institutions within the Kingston and Warkworth areas and back to the allocated drop off location in Hamilton.
Volunteers must possess a valid Ontario driver’s license (class G), a clean driver’s abstract and be willing to obtain a criminal reference check.
Volunteers must demonstrate an awareness of and respect for passenger confidentiality.
Volunteers must agree to a minimum one year commitment.
